Soakaway Logs

Soakaway

Recording soakaway data (soil infiltration rates) is crucial for designing effective surface water drainage, typically following the BRE Digest 365 methodology. The process involves measuring how quickly water drains from a trial pit to determine if the ground can handle the expected runoff

Easily record the dimensions of the soakaway pit and whether or not it is gravel filled. Then fill with water and start the timer. Record the depth of the water either at the pre-prescribed intervals, or just automatically at depth. Record the time it takes for the water to drop from 75% to 25% of the effective depth. Drillit Logs will inform you when you have reached the 25% mark and the test is finished.

This process can then be repeated for another two runs. The outputted data is plotted onto graphs for a visual representaion.

The Daily Soakaway Record is organised into key sections:

  • Runs Data
  • Soakaway Details
  • Comments, Standing Time, Dayworks

With Drillit Logs, maintaining accurate and comprehensive Soakaway records is both efficient and reliable.
